SBA Testing Schedule – PCMS – Spring 2022
This spring public schools in Washington State are required to administer state assessments in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science. For PCMS this means:
- 6th grade students will take the Math and ELA Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA).
- 7th grade students will take the Math and ELA SBA .
- 8th grade students will take the Math and ELA SBA and the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS).
PCMS will be on an adjusted schedule from Monday, May 2 to Friday, May 20. Students will go to three periods and Lynx Life each day. Classes will be longer to accommodate the testing window.

A few things to keep in mind:
- Students MUST bring their district issued laptop and charging cord to school EACH DAY during testing.
- When possible, please try to avoid checking your student out during their testing window.
- It is important for students to have a good night's sleep and come to school on time and well rested.
- Students should have a paper copy of a book to read when they finish testing.
- Electronics such as iPads, Kindles, smartphones, Apple Watches, etc. are not allowed during testing.
- If possible, please have students bring headphones that can be plugged in to the computer. Wireless headphones are prohibited during testing.
