SBA Testing Schedule – PCMS – Spring 2024
This spring public schools in Washington State are required to administer state assessments in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science. For PCMS this means:
- 6th grade students will take the Math and ELA Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA).
- 7th grade students will take the Math and ELA SBA .
- 8th grade students will take the Math and ELA SBA and the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS).
PCMS will be on an adjusted schedule from Monday, April 29 to Tuesday, May 7. Students will go to three periods and Lynx Life each day. Classes will be longer to accommodate the testing window.

SBA Testing Schedule Week 2: May 6-10, 2024
A few things to keep in mind:
- Students MUST bring their district issued laptop and charging cord to school EACH DAY during testing.
- When possible, please try to avoid checking your student out during their testing window.
- It is important for students to have a good night's sleep and come to school on time and well rested.
- Students should have a paper copy of a book to read when they finish testing.
- Electronics such as iPads, Kindles, smartphones, Apple Watches, etc. are not allowed during testing.
- If possible, please have students bring headphones that can be plugged in to the computer. Wireless headphones are prohibited during testing.
