Career Fair Opens Students’ Eyes to Future Possibilities

On Friday, April 25, PCMS hosted its annual Career Fair, organized by school counselor Laura Meserole. The event offered students an exciting opportunity to explore various careers and hear directly from community members who volunteered to share their professional journeys.

The Career Fair aimed to help students develop awareness of future possibilities, begin forming dreams and goals, and gain exposure to career paths they may never have considered.

Students attended two sessions, each featuring different career presentations. In total, 24 careers were represented at the fair, showcasing diverse fields and experiences. Presenters included a Radiologic Technologist, an Associate Director from the National Institutes of Health, a Delivery Director, and even a King County District Court judge.

In the session hosted by Marie Gallanar, a Commercial Insurance Broker, a presentation titled "Commercial Insurance 101" gave students a closer look at insurance, how it works in real-world scenarios, and what a typical day looks like in the life of a broker. Students asked and answered some impressive questions, showing great critical thinking.

By hearing firsthand how these professionals found their paths, students were encouraged to think about their interests and how they might connect to future careers. The fair sparked curiosity and inspiration, planting seeds that may shape the futures of many PCMS students.
